 Experience
I interned at Double Day Book & Music Club (DDBMC) in the summer of 1992. This internship was coordinated through Hofstra University. The experience was very valuable on many levels. First, it provided me with a greater understanding of the professional work environment. Although a college education is mostly focused on obtaining hard skills (e.g., programming, etc.), an internship allows you to learn about organizational behavior as well as the ability to use those skills taught in the classroom. At the time, I remember that identifying and obtaining an internship as a key goal and something I needed. I was very happy to have achieved this goal at this point in my career.
Sincerely,

I was chosen and elected to participate in DDBMC's internship program; I worked in the business development department. The job did not include computer programming; instead, I worked with business development professionals as well as the technology staff in the assessment of customer data. This included lead generation, direct mail components as well as subscription management. |
